The Givat Sharett Chesed Committee operates a shiva committee to assist individuals and families in Givat Sharett who have sustained a loss. The shiva committee sends out announcements to the local shuls in Givat Sharett with funeral and shiva details. The committee also organizes meals for the mourners and provides shiva equipment. In addition, a “Guide for the Bereaved,” which is included here, is available to assist the mourners before the funeral (as onanim) as well as information regarding the funeral and setting up the shiva house.
