The Givat Sharett Chesed Committee (GSCC) was established in 1992 to instill a communal feeling in the Givat Sharett neighborhood of Beit Shemesh, honoring the precept that all Jews are responsible for one another. The Givat Sharett Chesed Committee is concerned for the well-being of all neighborhood residents, providing practical support in times of need, and delivering financial aid to impoverished individuals and families across Beit Shemesh.
Beit Shemesh is home to thousands of olim (new immigrants). Our organization also reaches out to these olim and other newcomers, lending a helping hand, welcoming them into the community, and sometimes easing a difficult financial situation.
In short, our mission is to provide mutual support and compassion from within the community.
